The Abbotsford School District and City of Abbotsford have approved a new Master Joint Use Agreement, strengthening our long-standing partnership and improving access to shared facilities and recreational opportunities across the community.  

The updated agreement provides designated times for City programs and community organizations to use specific school gymnasiums, creating greater certainty around community access. It also removes fees for items such as skate and helmet rentals during school visits, helping reduce barriers to participation for children and youth.  

The Abbotsford School District gathered to celebrate a remarkable group of retirees whose dedication, leadership, and care have helped shape our schools and community for years.

Hosted at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Centre, the annual Retirement Dinner honoured employees from across the district, including teachers, support staff, administrators, operations employees, and district leaders. Together, this year's retirees represent hundreds of years of service dedicated to supporting student success.

The start of a new school year always brings a sense of energy and possibility. On September 2nd, more than 20,000 students will walk through the doors of our 46 schools, supported by 3,000 staff who are ready to guide, inspire, and celebrate their growth this year. The Abbotsford Board of Education is excited to see what this year will bring for our students-new learning, new friendships, and new opportunities to thrive. 

2025/26 Budget Development

We have begun developing the 2025/26 budget, starting with enrolment projections for the next three years. Overall, regular enrolment is anticipated to increase by 136 FTE in 2025/26, with another increase of 158 FTE for the 2026/27 year and then level off with an increase of 15 in 2027/28.
